Hawker Hart II

The Hawker Hart was the winner of a competition to meet the Air Ministry's specification for a fast light bomber. In fact, Sydney Camm's winning design was so fast, it would become the basis for a whole raft of not only bomber, but also fighter designs.

Harts saw action in Abyssinia, on the North-West frontier and even in the Winter War of 1939-1940, fighting with the Finnish Air Force. At the beginning of World War II the type was obsolete, but nonetheless served for a few years mainly in the communications role.
