Fokker DR.I Dreidecker

The Fokker DR.I was inspired by several captured examples of the highly successful Sopwith Triplane. Unlike the 'Tripe' however, the DR.I kept wings of standard chord, creating a highly manoeuvreable but longitudinally unstable machine.

Extremely agile in a dogfight, the DR.I's triple deck of wings (arguably four including the undercart), created a drag-heavy profile that meant she was nevertheless a fairly slow machine, and vulnerable to being caught by allied fighters in a chase.
